Sabbath Sunday: Fried Blue Cheese Potatoes and Steak Recipe

Blue Cheese Bacon Potatoes NewsAnchorToHomemaker

Sometimes everything that’s human inside you wants and needs a steak. I was having one of those moments, a serious red meat craving.  But, the star of this Sunday’s show is the Fried Blue Cheese and Bacon Potatoes. It felt a little sinful for Sabbath Sunday because these were almost too good. I wasn’t in the mood for mashed potatoes and blue cheese was also calling my name and this is what I came up with. I wanted to keep the rest of the meal simple with simple flavors, we loved it, I hope you do, too.

Steaks with Caramelized Onions and Mushrooms

Butter

1 Sweet Onion, Sliced

1 Package of Sliced Mushrooms

Garlic Salt

Pepper

Directions:

Melt a tablespoon or more of butter in a pan and throw in onions. Cook on low for about 20 minutes, throw in mushrooms and cook for a couple more minutes. While the onions are cooking, season your steaks with garlic salt and pepper on both sides. In a separate grill pan (I prefer steaks on a grill pan with butter…mmm) melt butter and put steaks in. Cook for a couple of minutes on each side. Donezo.

Green Beans

Butter

Olive Oil

Italian Seasoning

Directions

Steam or boil green beans. When beans are done put them in a small sauce ban with a tiny bit of butter and olive oil, season with Italian seasoning and salt.

Sabbath Sunday is a new weekly series on NewsAnchorToHomaker.  I had a vision of what future Sundays would look like, church, kids playing outside, while my husband and I cooked up a big meal. Then I figured, why wait?

  1. Both dishes are quite decadent. I so enjoy blue cheese, potaotes and scallions. Yes, sometimes my body craves red meat – there is no denying it! 🙂 By the way, I on this SuperBowl Sunday, you have been donned with the crown for the Queen of Garlic Salt. MMM. 🙂 Take good care! – Shanna
